On Hold
Due to unforseen circumstances (moving to Utah) and space restrictions (tiny kitchen) cake a week is on hold. I'm hoping to do some cakes here and there- but I don't have the space to do them weekly right now... I'll keep sharing as I do them though.

Cake #9 Baby girl shower
This was a shower cake for a little baby girl. She wasn't supposed to be born for another five weeks but came a little early. I tried out a new technique 'painted flowers'. After piping the icing on for the flowers you wet a paint brush and brush it in to the center. I really like the look of it. Of course I also love brown and pink.
It's a white chocolate cake with white chocolate cream cheese filling and lime filling. YUM!

Cake #4 Blessing Cake
This cake was for my sister's baby's blessing. It's covered in light pink fondant, wrapped with ribbon and then brushed with a piping gel/water mixture and coated in crystal sprinkles. It's surrounded with 'ribbon roses' which are made from fondant. The baby, blanket and pillow are all made from fondant.
It's a chocolate cake, with cream cheese and raspberry filling and covered in raspberry flavored marshmallow fondant.

Cake #2 Pizza!
This cake is a thank-you gift for a friend of mine who came and taught a pizza making class for the women in our ward. He did a fabulous job and I wanted to thank him in a fun way. The cake is covered in marshmallow fondant and all the 'toppings' are also fondant. I liked how the toppings came out. The 'cheese' is just grated which makes it look so real. I freehand cut the mushrooms and the peppers and used a #10 tip (I think) bottom to cut the olives and then the tip to cut the centers. I struggled and struggled with the 'dough' for some reason I couldn't achieve the right color for the crust. Also the height is an issue- but when you want to fill it so it's yummy it's going to be taller.
